Types of organizational structures and how organizations are able to determine if they are structured in the most effective and efficient manner

Different types of organizational structures:

  • Bureaucratic structures
  • Functional structure
  • Divisional structure
  • Matrix structure

The Matrix Structure combines the best of both separate structures; oftentimes using teams of employees in order to accomplish goals, by taking advantage of the strengths of a team is a concept that makes sense.

In addition, the weaknesses of a team/organization are decreased by the addition of the strengths of others.

The most effective way to determine if a company is properly structured is to keep track of financial numbers including productivity as well as growth - increased growth and productivity displays that a company is using a solid organizational structure.
