Change Management Concepts Used By Firms In Order To Meet Growing Technological Demands

Proper change management concepts and processes that ensure success involve inquiring about new advancements and changes, which will help to implement any change needed before the advancement occurs. Staying on top of new technology, even though it may not directly affect a company now, will help the organization be prepared for future changes.

Being properly prepared includes keeping employees updated, discussing changes with employees before they occur, as well as planning; in addition, sometimes an outsourced organization may be needed to help prepare a company for changes; looking beyond the immediate employees/managers may be an option.

A large company such as Microsoft must stay current with the various technological changes and the needs of society in order to produce the most current products for their customers. A smaller company such as a local farming business must must also make advancements in their productivity and use of technology in order to produce a sufficient amount of product to stay competitive.

In the computer-field, there is continuous advancements; one example is that of iPhones and other Apple Products, Microsoft is now in a more reactive stage of competing with Apple's technologies, which include phones, MP3 players, as well as various social software.

In order for Microsoft to maintain or grow as a company, it is wise for them to continuously produce the software they have in the past, and avoid rushing into another field; if a company changes too fast, then less concentration may be put into the quality products they already provide.

A proactive change, with a detailed plan of the future is far better than a reactive change that could cause lost revenue in another area.
